Blackdance - Twelve
During my long lasting music career I changed various monikers and various styles. Black Dance was a project born in Venice during my late university years (2010/2011 circa) and after the split up of my previous band called Arm Your Sampler.
Black Dance - Twelve is a 3 tracks single marked by an unorthodox approach to production and the will to experiment with diverse genres spanning from acid house to lofi music.
Well/done it’s the intro track that introduce the dualism of what to expect through the whole release: a fine balance between a more experimental and harsh kind of electronic music and something more comforting and easy on the ears.
The title track, Twelve, is a funky acid journey and it’s more dance oriented than the others. It features squelcy analog basslines, cosmic strings and some rusty vocal samples, just enough to make you want to move.
Finally, Dishpig is the closing track of the trio, and it’s another downtempo joint. Mood is eerie but, again, funky and uplifting at the same time. The track is wrapped into luscious pad and it’s driven by heavily syncopated synthetic percussion and some beautiful funky guitar riffs.
